TPA liners

Universal is proud to introduce a new collection of liners engineered with the newest milking technology--Universal Liners with TPA (Teat Penetration Area). Exclusive to the Universal brand, these liners are manufactured in three sizes to custom fit the average teat size of your herd. These tailored liners can help increase the productivity of every milking session.

What is TPA?
TPA stands for Teat Penetration Area: the newest technological application to improve productivity and milking efficiency. Proven scientific principles and statistics have been used to design the new Universal liners in order to obtain a superior liner fit for each herd.

How does TPA work?
Universal has engineered a line of teat size –specific liners in three styles: for herds with short, average and long teats. When the liner with correct TPA is chosen, the result is faster and more comfortable milking for the cows in your herd. The advanced design and application of Universal liners with TPA creates a custom fit for your herd.

How are TPA liners different?
Until now liners have been produced primarily as one-size-fitsall. This approach ignores the variation in teat size within a herd and especially from one herd to another. The TPA of the liner chosen for a herd must give proper massage to the cows with the shortest teats while also accommodating cows with the largest teats in the herd. Universal liners with TPA are sized in proportion to teat length and diameter. The proper TPA is then selected based on the statistical profile of teat length of the herd.

The Science Behind TPA
It’s a fact that average teat length from one herd to the next can vary by more than 15–20%. It is easy to see that a one–size–fits–all approach to liners is an ill–fitting compromise.

Universal liners with TPA (Teat Penetration Area) offer a new approach that takes away much of the compromise and creates a custom fit for your herd. The goal of Universal liners with TPA is to provide optimum milking conditions for the cows in your herd. Achieving this begins with effective massage of short teats, as well as average and larger teats. Effective massage allows for faster milk flow and reduces teat end congestion. The benefits are faster milking which can help improve udder health in the long term.
